Skrilla: “GD”
Skrilla is the Philly drill Joker. He’s acquired a woozy, swerving movement that makes it sound like he’s spent all day perched on a bar stool, punctuating his phrases with surprising pauses and purposeful stutters. Laid on high of the eerie beats which have turn into the norm in his hometown, his raps forged a spell that may solely be damaged with a splash of holy water. All of that may be discovered on “GD,” a minute and a half of ominous flexes and warning pictures—although I’m much less fascinated by his precise phrases than by the crazy anarchy of his supply.
With artists releasing songs at a quick and livid tempo, it’s troublesome for the typical hip-hop head to maintain monitor of all of it—irrespective of how tapped in they’re. That’s why we created The Ones, a day by day put up to spotlight the tune it is advisable hear.
Try earlier Ones, and take heed to new rap from Skrilla and extra on our Spotify playlist.
