MINNEAPOLIS: The Guthrie Theater has named Trisha Kirk their new managing director. Kirk has served because the theatre’s interim managing director since final September.
“All through her tenure with the Guthrie, Trish has acquired promotion after promotion and has excelled in each function she has taken on,” inventive director Joseph Haj stated in an announcement. “I’m excited for our continued partnership and for what can be potential on the Guthrie below her management.”
Kirk has been a member of the Guthrie workforce since 1985 and has held numerous positions, together with season ticket supervisor, field workplace supervisor, and advertising and marketing supervisor, and, later, director of promoting. In 2016, she started overseeing the theatre’s communications and front-of-house departments, and joined the senior administration workforce in 2019. Kirk is a lifelong Twin Cities resident and is a graduate of the College of Minnesota.
“To say I’m honored and excited to fill this function could be an understatement,” Kirk stated in a launch. “I’m extremely proud to have spent almost my whole profession on the Guthrie working alongside an unbelievably gifted and devoted workers, dedicated volunteers, and the neatest and most supportive audiences within the nation. Along with Kirk’s promotion, the Guthrie additionally named Krista Matthews to be their new director of improvement.
