Fawlty Towers Play makes its West Finish debut at Apollo Theatre


Fifty years because it was first recorded at BBC Tv Centre in 1974, the “biggest British sitcom of all time” (Radio Occasions) Fawlty Towers, has been tailored for the West Finish stage by comedy legend John Cleese and can premiere at London’s Apollo Theatre Shaftesbury Avenue on Wednesday 15 Could (previews from 4 Could).

Cleese, who co-wrote the unique TV sequence with Connie Sales space and starred because the inimitable Basil Fawlty, has written a two-hour play based mostly on three of the unique TV episodes – ‘The Lodge Inspector’ and ‘The Germans’ from sequence one and ‘Communication Issues’ from sequence two. John Cleese says: “What a thrill to be bringing Fawlty Towers to the West Finish for the primary time – practically 50 years because the present was first recorded, in December 1974.
